Data hub optimizes cross-border logistics in Europe

The EU is developing a new common data platform for logistics within the FENIX project. The project partners use Deutsche Telekom’s Data Intelligence Hub for this. The new “data network” links all logistics partners within the EU and connects supply chains, flows of goods and modes of transport, minimizing bottlenecks in the logistical supply of EU Member States. The common platform simplifies the exchange of information across European borders while protecting the environment.

FENIX will build the first European federated architecture for logistics data exchange

FENIX – A European Federated Network of Information eXchange in LogistiX – a new CEF project coordinated by ERTICO-ITS Europe was launched today in Brussels, Belgium with over 70 participants representing logistics stakeholders such as public authorities, transport companies, service providers, ports, customs, shippers, terminal operators, users and academia.

A range of ERTICO innovations showcased at the Virtual ITS European Congress

The digitalisation of logistics was a hot topic heavily discussed for the impact and potential it holds. FENIX project coordinator Eusebiu Catana from ERTICO moderated a session entirely dedicated to the architecture for logistics information exchange, featuring representatives from the European Commission’s DG MOVE, ERTICO Partners Rijkswaterstaat (Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management), Pionira and SWARCO.

CIRCLE e IGNAZIO MESSINA & C.: From Genoa to Egypt containers under control with an RFID seal

The first pilot test of the international logistic corridor between the ports of Genoa and Alexandria in Egypt has been successfully completed. Made within the European project FENIX, the project involves, in addition to Circle Group and the Italian shipping company Ignazio Messina & C., the IMT terminal in the port of Genoa and Ocean Express in the port of Alessandria, and lays the foundations for the complete digitalization of document flows between the various actors involved in the corridor.

Joint Declaration Benelux Summit
[…] We are also pursuing collaboration with the Digital Transport and Logistics Forum (DTLF) of the European Commission and EU-funded projects European FEderated Network of Information eXchange in LogistiX (FENIX),  in order  to enable a coherent and cost-efficient implementation of the eFTI Regulation.
