DESCRIPTION:FENIX consortium members will gather in Brussels for a Technical Workshop and General Assembly on 10-11 May in order to share project milestones and technical successes.  The technical workshop will focus discussion on standardization\, interoperability\, and requirements for the integration of standards in TEN-T corridors.  The best ways to approach gaps\, opportunities and the study of future scenarios will be covered\, as well as the roadmap for FENIX 2.0. \nThe multidisciplinary approach of the consortium allows for a wide-ranging General Assembly agenda with topics including working groups recommendations\, governance models for collaboration among consortium and industry organizations\, recommendations on regulation and policy\, and a model for finance and revenue.  Of particular interest will be partners’ presentations on pilot site rollouts\, cross-site tests\, and the operational success at different test sites.  Finally\, the gathering will be an opportunity for the consortium members\, convened by project coordinator ERTICO – ITS Europe\, to discuss the future of Pan-European federated architecture in the transport and logistics sector.

DESCRIPTION:The GS1 Global Forum is the global annual event to align the organisation’s strategy\, inspire and strengthen GS1 staff around the world. The week offers great opportunities to learn about new GS1 standards and solutions\, to share implementation stories and to discover best practices from around the world. Over 2\,600 participants from 111+ countries are expected to participate this year. \nOn Wednesday\, 23 February\, representatives from the FENIX Consortium will take part in the session “Shaping future transport and logistics using GS1 standards” to discuss the project. \n\n\nGovernments\, Transport & Logistics actors\, all over the world\, invest heavily in projects with supply chain stakeholders to improve operations in supply chains and specifically in transport & logistics. GS1 has been quite successful in joining these innovation projects. Several GS1 Member Organisations (MOs) and industry stakeholders will explain what projects they are working on during this session\, how they leverage GS1 standards and how the projects intend to become the growth kernels. We will have a great demonstration from the GLN manager use case with PTV (Planung Transport Verkehr AG) within the scope of the FENIX project. Additionally\, we will have one of the topics identified as a priority for the T&L Centre of Excellence in 2022 related to paperless transport. DESCRIPTION:The last Rhine-Alpine Talks in 2021 taking place on 3 December\, 11:00-12:30 CEST will present the “Roadmap Towards a Carbon Neutral Rhine-Alpine Corridor” developed by the EGTC in close consultation with its boards. \nThe EGTC proposes several steps in this roadmap to accelerate the development of a strategy to significantly step up efforts to green the Rhine-Alpine Corridor in order to attain climate change goals\, as set in the European Green Deal. DESCRIPTION:More and more people move across the continent. Low cost air has offered some opportunities\, the long-distance buses have become popular. Rail transport is still an option\, either high-speed\, conventional or both. After a reduction of Euro-City trains and the almost disappearance of night trains some years ago\, international trains have become more numerous again though at a lower level than before. There are ambitious infrastructure plans in the countries of the Rhine-Alpine Corridor though its full implementation is delayed by 2035 or beyond. According to Germany’s last year’s EU-presidency\, Deutschland-Takt (clockface timetable) should not stop at borders to connect important cities European-wide. \nWhat does this mean for the Rhine-Alpine Corridor? More high-speed rail\, less or a mix of high speed and conventional rail? How to accelerate the implementation of an integrated timetable? What other measures can be taken already now to make transport more rail-friendly and more user-friendly? This includes railway stations as important interfaces between modes and service centres. \nThis is the European Year of Rail.
