Rhine-Alpine Talks: Roadmap Towards a Carbon Neutral Rhine-Alpine Corridor
3rd December, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
The last Rhine-Alpine Talks in 2021 taking place on 3 December, 11:00-12:30 CEST will present the “Roadmap Towards a Carbon Neutral Rhine-Alpine Corridor” developed by the EGTC in close consultation with its boards.
The EGTC proposes several steps in this roadmap to accelerate the development of a strategy to significantly step up efforts to green the Rhine-Alpine Corridor in order to attain climate change goals, as set in the European Green Deal. The roadmap shall act as catalyst for efficient transformation processes.
The various targets set out for the EU, such as in the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy (SSMS), and the Fit for 55 package aim to decarbonise all modes of transport, especially along the TEN-T corridors, boosting the uptake of zero-emissions vehicles, renewable and low-carbon fuels and related infrastructure, zero emissions ports, making interurban and urban mobility sustainable and freight green.
In this edition of the Rhine-Alpine Talks, the Roadmap of the EGTC shall be presented followed by a keynote on the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy of the EU and by examples of lighthouse projects in ports, cities and regions of the Rhine-Alpine Corridor.
